A 55-year-old Ottawa resident has died after Grey Bruce OPP received reports of an unresponsive swimmer on Wednesday.
The incident happened at a waterfront property on Cedar Avenue in Meaford just before 1:30 that afternoon.
Police were called to the scene along with Grey County Paramedic Services and Meaford Fire Department.
Bystanders had recovered the person from the water and had initiated CPR until paramedics arrived. Despite their best efforts, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grey Bruce OPP are extending their thanks to emergency responders and members of the public for their assistance. No further information has been released.
