South Bruce OPP say one person died in a head-on collision on Highway 21 south of Port Elgin.
Emergency services responded to the incident involving a pick-up truck and a sport utility vehicle just after 5:20 p.m. Tuesday evening.
“The driver of the SUV suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene,” OPP say in a release. “The driver of the pickup truck was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.”
Highway 21 was closed between Bruce Road 40 and Concession 2 for several hours for the collision investigation, but has since reopened.
South Bruce OPP say the investigation is ongoing, and they’re appealing to residents and businesses in the area of the collision who may have dash cam or security camera footage to contact them.
