A popular fundraiser is back next week, offering a sweet way to raise money for local healthcare.
From April 27 to May 3, Tim Hortons restaurants in Wiarton, Hepworth, Meaford and Owen Sound will once again sell Smile Cookies, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to support five local Brightshores Health System hospital foundations.
Meanwhile, this year’s campaign for Port Elgin and Southampton features the 10,000 Smile Cookie, One Community Challenge, encouraging residents to purchase 10,000 cookies in each community during the one-week fundraiser, with the proceeds going to the Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation.
Each Smile Cookie sold will support priority equipment needs and improve patient care, helping fund more than $14 million in equipment and infrastructure needs this year.
The annual campaign is made possible through the support of local Tim Hortons owners, staff, and volunteers who decorate each cookie by hand.
Residents are encouraged to visit participating locations, buy a Smile Cookie or a dozen to raise money for local health care.
