A new doctor is joining the health care team at Kincardine Clinic this summer.
Dr. Maimoona Altaf has signed a physician recruitment agreement, and will be taking over the practice of Dr. Gary Gurbin, who will be retiring on July 1st after 60 years treating patients in the community.
According to the Municipality of Kincardine, Dr. Altaf completed her Bachelor of Science at Trent University, and completed medical school and her residency at the University of Toronto.
She has also already spent two years working in the community.
In a statement, she said that “After spending time working in this community, I am grateful for the opportunity to join the clinic and continue supporting patients’ needs. The welcoming community and surrounding nature make it a wonderful place to live and work.”
In an additional message to patients, Dr. Altaf shared her commitment to continuing the high standard of care established by Dr Gurbin, and ensured a smooth transition during this change.
