Grey Bruce OPP charged a number of motorists with impaired and stunt driving charges over the past week.
Police say between Oct. 14-16 they responded to four separate incidents in the region.
OPP say at around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 14, officers were conducting patrols in Grey Highlands when they stopped a pickup truck travelling over 120 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
A 24-year-old from Grey Highlands with charged with racing a vehicle.
The accused was issued a provincial summons to attend court, and had their vehicle impounded for 14 and driver’s license suspended for 30.
The same day in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, police say they responded to a traffic complaint at around 2 p.m. on Bruce Road 13.
According to OPP, they stopped the vehicle in question, placed the driver under arrest and transported them to the OPP detachment for further tests.
The 54-year-old accused from South Bruce Peninsula was charged with driving while impaired by a drug and has been given a court date for Nov. 18.
Then on Oct. 15, Grey Bruce OPP say they responded to a traffic complaint of a possibly impaired driver on Highway 26 in Meaford at around 1:45 p.m.
Police say they were able to find and stop the vehicle, and place the driver under arrest. The OPP brought the person to their detachment for further testing.
As a result, the 32-year-old from Blue Mountains was charged with driving while impaired and driving with an open container of liquor.
The accused was released and given a court date for Nov. 25.
Another incident Grey Bruce OPP responded to on Oct. 16: at around 3:30 a.m. police were conducting patrols when they watched an oncoming pickup truck on Highway 21.
Police stopped and spoke with the driver, resulting in an arrest. The accused was brought to the OPP detachment for further testing.
Police charged the 26-year-old from Southgate with impaired driving and having a high blood alcohol concentration.
The accused was released and given a court date for Nov. 18.
