A fall edition of the Grey Bruce Virtual Job Fair will be held in November.
A release notes, the partners of the job fair are aiming to hold the event on Nov. 23 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This announcement follows the two job fair events held earlier this year in March and April, which welcomed a combined 174 employers and 970 job seekers.
This time around, the organizers are expecting to see between 80 to 100 employers from various industries sign up for the event and feature full-time, part-time, seasonal, and student positions.
Those looking to find jobs at the fair will be able to register the first week of November, and signing up early ensures virtual entry and time for employers to view resumes and profiles, so to set up interviews in advance of the event.
Linda Alexander, Program Director at the YMCA Employment Services says, “we’ve spoken to many business owners within the region who are struggling to find staff. The virtual job fair will provide these employers the opportunity to connect with local job seekers and those from surrounding urban centres who are willing to relocate.”
YMCA Employment Services and VPI Working Solutions are available to help job seekers write and update their resume, prepare for a virtual interview, build their online profile, and answer questions.
To further assist with the local labour shortages, the counties are collaborating with the Rural Employment Initiative, which works with immigrant clients who are looking to relocate to rural communities.
For businesses who are looking to set up a booth for the job fair, they can register at the Made in Grey website.
