Clean-up is well underway in Owen Sound after squalls hit parts on the region on Monday.
Owen Sound’s Director of Public Works and Engineering Dennis Kefalas says crews have been getting ready and practicing their snow-clearing routes since the beginning of November.
He says maintaining the safety of the city’s hills is always the first priority before plow operators shift focus on major arterial routes.
For residential side streets, Kefalas says crews aim to have most cleared within 24 hours of a snow event, However, it can take up to 48 hours depending on the amount of snow that has fallen.
Salting and sanding roads will occur when it is needed.
