A two-part music event is coming to the Owen Sound Harmony Centre this weekend.
Summerfolk is partnering up with the Georgian Bay Symphony to celebrate the holiday season on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m., which will feature bits from the Nutcracker as well as other holiday songs.
After the performances end at 8:30 p.m., Summerfolk is going to keep the party going with local artist the Rob Elder Trio.
Summerfolk General Manager Jaret Koop says the event is part of their work to build stronger connections to other community groups.
“Summerfolk is here to promote the arts across the community and we’re excited to celebrate the holiday season with the symphony. We’re all folks who love music and this is a great chance to mingle now that we can gather for events again,” says Koop.
The age 19 and over after party is based on a pay what you can entry, with a suggested donation of $10.
“This was an easy way we wanted to throw a holiday party, they are throwing a holiday show. They are finally getting back to doing live events and we’re starting to get back into doing our regular course of activities. It just seemed like a natural fit for us to combine the two,” says Koop.
Tickets for the concert are available for purchase through the Georgian Bay Symphony office and website.
