Due to increasing local COVID-19 cases, Grey Bruce Health Services is adjusting its visitor policy.
The hospital organization says it is a, “precautionary measure to provide the safest environment possible for our patients, families and employees.”
The changes will go into effect Thursday, December 23rd.
Two visitors will still be permitted for inpatients, but they must be the same two visitors throughout the patient’s hospital stay. For most outpatient appointments, people are asked to come alone unless they require support for accessibility reasons.
For labour and delivery, two visitors will be permitted. Post-partum, one designated visitor can remain in hospital with the mother, and one designated visitor for the duration of admission, during visiting hours.
For pediatric patients, (Under 16) two parents/guardians.
For end of life, two visitors at a time are permitted.
Grey Bruce Health Services says patients should come alone for day surgery, oncology, chemotherapy, ambulatory care, emergency department, medical imaging and cardiology unless another person is needed for accessibility reasons.
