The Dundalk Fire department is reminding people not to drive over fire hoses.
A social media post from the department says while firefighters were operating at a small multi residential fire in Dundalk this morning, a passerby decided that instead of detouring they would drive over the supply line from the hydrant to the truck.
The fire department says that poses serious safety issues for firefighters as well as the vehicle and it’s driver.
It can burst the hose and a busted hose can also leave firefighters who are fighting a blaze without the protection of water.
