With the an extreme cold warning in effect, the City of Owen Sound has put out a notice about changes to warming centre locations.
It says in a release, “Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, City facilities that are typically available as Warming Stations during cold temperatures are not available for public use at this time.”
The City has partnered with Safe ‘n Sound to extend operation hours on Friday, January 14th and Saturday, January 15th.
Safe ‘n Sound will now operate today until 3:30 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.

After hours, the number to call anytime is 211. The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce’s Joan Chamney says that’s the best number to call and operators will be able to connect you to available resources in the community to help you find shelter.
