Grey and Bruce Counties are implementing weight/load restrictions on county roads this week.
Restrictions of 5 tonnes per single axle will be in place as of March 1 until further notice.
Bruce Road 9, 13, 14, 15, 6, 6E, 33, and 40 are impacted by these restrictions, as well as such roads like Grey Road 1, 17, 15, 16, and 25.
Bruce County says, “with the warmer conditions in recent weeks, Bruce County staff have implemented road weight/load restrictions to protect the integrity of our road infrastructure.”
During the spring thaw season, the roads are susceptible to damage and the reduction of axle-weights helps preserve the life span of Bruce and Grey County roads.
