The Bruce County Bookmobile project is continuing to see support with a $5,000 donation from Barry’s Construction.
The library says it is moving into the active planning stages for the new bookmobile and are plotting potential routes, designs and more.
In purchasing and modifying a vehicle and hiring staff to deliver scheduled visits and programs across the county, the library says it will be able to connect digitally and socially to underserved community members.
According to the library, this donation from Barry’s Construction comes as they have been an active member of the Bruce County community and have donated to many local initiatives.
Director for the library Brooke Mclean says she is excited to move into the planning stages of the bookmobile.
“The Campaign Cabinet began meeting last summer and reached out to potential donors in the fall of 2021. The response we’ve received, not just from donors, but the entire public has been very enthusiastic,” says Mclean. “We appreciate the support of Barry’s Construction in making the bookmobile a reality.”
This donation follows after the bookmobile project previously received a $50,000 donation from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.
