The Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) is partnering with the Bruce County Public Library to host a virtual science at home program over the March break.
The NII says students of all ages will be able to take part in experiments over the break with the NII Explore program and local libraries across the county, as livestreams will be held each day of the break.
These free, interactive livestreams, sponsored by Bruce Power, will feature science experiments using easy-to-find household materials, active games and chances to win great prizes.
Director of the NII Explore program Phillip Craig says last year’s March Break camp was such a hit, they just had to do it again.
“We love watching kids get so excited when an experiment works and they learn something new about the world. The energy and enthusiasm the kids bring to the program is always the highlight,” says Craig.
Program Coordinator at the Bruce County Public Library Nancy Kuhl adds, “the library is thrilled to partner with NII Explore once again to offer livestreamed science experiments during March Break. We encourage children and families to tune in, then visit their local library branch to discover more science resources and activities.”
Children and parents can tune into the livestream on the county library’s YouTube channel each morning from March 14 to the 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. No pre-registration is needed, but those who plan on tuning in can subscribe to the library’s YouTube channel.
Details on the needed materials for the science experiments can be found on the NII Explore March Break 2022 website.
