An updated memorandum of understanding is being extended between Bruce County and the Municipal Innovation Council.
The MIC was established in 2020 when eight municipalities in the County of Bruce came together to find cost savings and efficiencies, and to deliver better services to residents.
Council approved $50,000 to be included in the 2023 budget to keep the Municipal Innovation Council going.
In addition to project savings, the member municipalities have also been starting to see the value in their investment in the MIC.
While Bruce County had contributed $50,000 per year for three years, they were able to see the investment leveraged to $1.2 million dollars through grants and member funding, and they were able to accomplish initiatives that Bruce County could not have done on its own.
