Hanover Police say a 35 year old West Grey man faces nearly 30 charges after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop.
Police say in a release, on June 26th, at about 2:15 p.m., a Hanover Police Service officer was clearing a vehicle collision in West Grey, assisting the West Grey Police, when they observed a motorcycle traveling westbound on County Road 4 at a high speed towards Hanover.
According to police, the officer tried to stop the driver who failed to stop and fled at a high speed. They say the officer terminated the attempted traffic stop for safety reasons.
Police say a short time later, another Hanover Police officer located the suspect stopped in traffic at the intersection of 10th Street and 17th Avenue waiting at a red light. The officer exited their cruiser in an attempt to arrest the man but he reportedly fled again, this time, through the stopped traffic, failed to stop for the red light and accelerated away, which police say put the officer and other drivers at risk.
A subsequent police investigation identified the suspect and his motorcycle.
