Grey Bruce OPP say they have seized a firearm while investigating a crash in South Bruce Peninsula.
Police say on Sept. 27 around 2:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision on Highway 21.
OPP say during the course of the investigation, officers found a firearm inside one of the involved vehicles.
As a result, police say they have charged a 26-year-old from Saugeen Shores with possession of a substance, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, failing to comply with a release order, and possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing, where they remain in custody.
Police add they also charged a 35-year-old from Saugeen Shores with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, occupants of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with.
The accused was released and is set to appear in court in Owen Sound at a later date.
