Owen Sound Police have charged a 41-year-old man with impaired driving after his vehicle collided with a pole.
Police were called to the crash in the 600 block of 10th Street West just after 9 pm last night.
A vehicle had lost control and struck a hydro pole at the top of the hill, causing damage to both the vehicle and the pole.
Witnesses were helping the driver, and one bystander was calling 911, when the driver ran away.
Officers were able to locate the man and have him provide breath samples.
It was found the driver had a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.
The driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle impounded.
