The Owen Sound leaf and yard waste compost site is closed this afternoon and tomorrow.
The city says the facility at 2450 28th Avenue East will close on Nov. 9 at noon as well as the entire day on Nov. 10 to allow for wood grinding to occur.
The facility will be back to normal hours of 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 11.
The city says grinding takes place annually by a contractor, and the equipment used for the work does not allow safe access to the site for residents.
Owen Sound apologizes for the continued site closures, as the work this year has been hampered as a result of contractor staffing and equipment issues.
The site will be closed for the season on Dec. 1, before reopening on April 1, weather permitting.
