This is a busy week and a very special week for Royal Canadian Legion branches right across Canada.
Branch 6 Owen Sound Royal Canadian Legion President Ed Yates explains there’s an alteration to the Parade Route this year in terms of the gathering spot. For decades, the annual parade has been launched from the Metro Parking Lot. However, this year, for a variety of factors, the gathering spot for the parade will be the Royal Bank location on 2nd Avenue east in the city.
The biggest factor for the alteration is the proximity of the Royal Bank to the cenotaph which will allow aging parade members to participate in a shorter march to the cenotaph in the city for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony.
