This month, Bruce County Public Library is bringing Canada’s largest recreational reading program, Forest of Reading.
The program has six categories that cater to kids from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Each category has ten popular book titles, and participants are required to read five so they can vote on their favourite.
The exception is that the children aged Kindergarten to Grade 2 have to read each of the 10 picture books in their category before they can vote.
The program typically has 270,000 participants each year.
This year BCPL is working to engage local schools to register as a group through Beanstack.
There will also be a series of activities that students can participate in and earn virtual badges.
