Hanover Foodland is getting ready to welcome local police for the annual Cram The Cruiser event.
Store Manager Alicia Ceglie says Hanover Police Chief Christopher Knoll and a few officers will be paying a visit on Dec. 9 from about 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to help cram the cruiser.
“As customers come through the store shopping, we have local food bank bags that we have made up in-store. They range from $5 to $10 food bank bags and then customers can purchase them and then they stuff the cruiser,” says Ceglie.
She says the bags contain a variety of items, including canned food and pantry items which have a longer shelf life.
Ceglie adds while there is no specific goal for how much they are aiming to raise, they are looking to cram the cruiser and stuff it with as many bags as they can.
Ceglie says this is something the community and the store has been doing for a few years.
“I just love to be a part of something local and helping out the community in any way that we can,” says Ceglie. “We are really excited, the staff is over the moon. We love participating in this and we are already actually starting to stuff our bags, and we are happy and proud that we can support the community in this way.”
