After closing the sand covered Beach Drive, Wasaga Beach is now looking at another way to control crowds at the main beach area.
Fencing was put up at Beach One which formed four large “pods”.
At a special virtual council meeting on Tuesday (July 14) at 1 pm, councillors will consider approving the COVID-19 Beach Drive Promenade Community Safety Plan.
The already created pods allow the town to control access to specific areas of the sand covered Beach Drive and to control physical distancing within the pods.
Each pod has been assigned a certain capacity based on the amount of space taken up by a family of four, the two meters between families and the area of the pod.
Access to the pods will be controlled by one of the nine Beach Ambassadors council recently approved.
Pod One, closest to the Spruce Street Parking Lot, will be set aside for residents along with one guest.
