The Municipality of Kincardine has approved the tender to start the Downtown Dig project.
The $7.4-million project will be completed by Lavis Contracting Co. Limited.
It includes infrastructure improvements downtown, including replacing water mains and sewer lines, as well as completing new, more accessible sidewalks.
Adam Weishar, the Director of Infrastructure and Development says that municipal staff have been working with BM Ross for engineering, in addition to members from the Lakeside Downtownt Kincardine BIA, Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce, and the Accessibility Committee to finalize designs over the past year.
The project could start as soon as March of 2023.
