Grey Highlands council is awarding a $379,000 tender for a new tandem truck.
During a meeting on April 5, council received a report from Transportation and Public Spaces Coordinator Holly Cullihall.
It recommends awarding the tender to Lewis Motor Sales Inc., which includes a combination dump, spreader body and snow plow harness.
Council also approved authorizing funding any variance following the sale of the surplus truck from the transportation reserve.
The report says staff recommend awarding the tender to Lewis Motor Sales for their submission of a 2024 International HV613, as it meets the specifications required.
Including an extended warranty for the vehicle, the total cost equals just over $395,000. Exceeding the budgeted amount of $375,000, there leaves an unfunded amount of $20,000.
Staff anticipate more than $25,000 will be received for the surplus truck and suggest using it to help fund the remaining amount.
