Kincardine Council has endorsed the municipality’s operational plans revision for the Drinking Water Quality Management System.
The Environmental Services Department required each drinking water system within the municipality would operate under the Safe Drinking Water Act of 2002.
Under Section 11 of the Act, owners and operating authorities are responsible for ensuring their drinking water systems, and that the drinking water provided meets all of the quality standards, and that operations are appropriately staffed and supervised by qualified personnel.
The Municipality of Kincardine owns the drinking water systems in Armow, Kincardine, Tiverton, Scott’s Point, and Underwood.
Although the Huronville Distribution System is operated by Kincardine, it is owned by the Township of Huron-Kinloss.
