Grey Bruce OPP say they and Owen Sound Police are investigating a suspicious death in the city.
Police say on July 7 around 11:53 a.m., Owen Sound Police were called to a residence on 2nd Avenue East in Owen Sound. A deceased 47-year-old man was discovered at the residence.
Police say as a result, an investigation has commenced with assistance of and under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with members of Owen Sound Police and its Crime Unit, OPP West Region Crime Unit, Owen Sound Police and OPP Forensic Identification Services, and the OPP Regional Support Team, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
OPP say investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
As the investigation is in its early stages, police say no further details can be released at this time, and residents of the area should expect to see a large police presence for the next few days.
