A number of people helped in a water rescue at Sunset Point Park beach in Collingwood on the weekend.
OPP Constable Martin Hachey says they got a call around 9:40 Sunday morning.
He says a man was kayaking and the kayak overturned sending him into the water.
The man was overcome by the water and was rescued by a person who swam out from shore, two people on a raft and another person on a paddle board.
The kayaker was brought to shore to waiting paramedics and taken to the hospital in Collingwood and then airlifted to Barrie.
Hachey says the man’s condition, as of last evening, was life threatening.
