If you’re planning a trip soon and want to be known as a respectful and pleasant fellow passenger while in the air, here are some things to avoid doing:
- Taking care of personal grooming while at your seat. Cutting your nails, painting your nails, trimming your beard, etc. This really should be something you do before you get on the plane and it it really can’t wait, maybe do it in the washroom.
- Using your speakerphone! If you’re watching a movie or listening to music during the flight, use headphones!
- Unwanted conversation. Close to 40% of people said they don’t like it when they’re seatmate won’t be quiet. Exchange pleasantries when you get settled in and even right after take off, but then read your book, watch your movie, etc.
- Take your shoes and socks off. This is just gross.
- Reclining your seat. It’s tempting to do because you want to be comfortable, but if you can, avoid doing this.
- Hogging both armrests.
- Asking someone to switch seats! Especially if they have the window seat!
A poll done by Skyscanner asked about 2000 people what they find most annoying when traveling to compile this list!
Definitely some things to think about!
