A supporter of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society is set to take quite the stroll on Saturday.
As part of the GTHS’ Walkathon Your Way virtual event, Daniel McAreavey is walking about 30 kilometres from the Creemore Springs Brewery to his home in Collingwood to raise funds.
McAreavey tells us he thinks it will take him 6 to 7 hours to walk that distance.
He is leaving Creemore at 5:30 in the morning.
He says he keeps raising his fundraising goal because he keeps surpassing it.
He raised five, then ten thousand dollars and now he says he is well on his way to raising 15 thousand dollars.
Daniel McAreavey says what he is doing is small compared to what the GTHS volunteers do every day to care for animals.
