A liquid soap brand sold at stores like Winners has been recalled in due to microbial hazard.
Health Canada issued a recall notice for Castelbel Liquid Soap yesterday over the possible presence of the microorganism called Pseudomonas Aeruginosa.
The agency says it poses little medical risk to healthy individuals, but people with certain health problems or compromised immune systems are at an increased risk of infection if they use the contaminated product.
The company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
The company reported that 2,224 of the liquid soaps were sold at nationwide Winners, Marshalls, and HomeSense between July and September 2024.
To find out if you have any of the affected Castelbel liquid soaps, check to see if it has the following batch numbers located on the product label:
- 2401362 500 — 500 ml Lemon Verbena liquid soap
- 2401435 — 500 ml Coastal Breeze liquid soap
- 2401510 — 500 ml Scalloped Sea Minerals liquid soap
- 2401664 — 500 ml Scalloped sea minerals liquid soap
