Over the past few weeks we have been receiving incredible love story nominations.
There are clearly lots of deserving couples, but there can only be one winner.
Congratulations to Connie Rogers & Brady Gallinger of Meaford.
Their nominator, Karen Perks wrote:
The Right Left Hand: At 47, she has stood beside brides, adjusting veils, holding bouquets, and wiping happy tears. She has watched friends promise forever, always the bridesmaid, never the bride. But if anyone deserves to finally have her day, it’s her. She fell in love with a man who had lived a different story—one that included marriage and four daughters. She never had children of her own, but when she met them, she embraced them with open arms, stepping into the role of a mother with patience, kindness, and a heart big enough to love them as if they were her own. She has spent years putting them first—helping with school projects, late-night talks, and endless acts of love that go unnoticed because, to her, they aren’t obligations. They’re just what love looks like. She’s been the backbone of their family, the quiet, unwavering presence that makes their house a home. And for him—she has been his partner, his second chance, his proof that love can be even sweeter the second time around. As George Jones sang, this time, he put the ring on the right left hand. Now, it’s her turn. Her turn to walk down the aisle, her turn to be the one in white, her turn to be celebrated. This prize wouldn’t just be a gift—it would be a long-overdue moment of joy for a woman who has spent her life giving to others. Because if anyone deserves to finally be the bride, it’s her.
I had the chance to speak to Connie, and she was clearly blown away:
Congratulations to the happy couple and thank you to our amazing sponsors!
