Kincardine councillor Dave Cuyler has delivered on his apology to staff and the public, for remarks he made last year that violated the municipality’s code of conduct.
It came at Kincardine’s Committee of the Whole meeting this week.
Cuyler says he apologizes to anyone who may have been offended by his remarks about a survey on how well the summer Queen Street promenade program was accepted and then presented to council last September.
He says he did not mean to “offend or demean anyone in any way, saying the remarks were strictly his opinion and “for that I am sorry.”
The incident still results in Cuyler losing 30-days pay.
Had he not apologized, he would have lost 90-days pay.
Mayor Anne Eadie says she hopes the councillor learns from the incident.
