Grey County has a new Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
Niall Lobley was most recently Georgian Bluffs’ CAO. He’ll start at the County as Deputy CAO on May 20th.
In a release, Grey County says, Lobley, “Brings a wealth of experience in municipal leadership, operations, and community engagement. Most recently serving as CAO for the Township of Georgian Bluffs, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to strategic planning, effective team building, and delivering high-quality services to residents.”
Lobley’s career includes leadership roles at the City of Kitchener and Conservation Halton, where a County release says he led multi-disciplinary teams, implemented climate action and risk management strategies, and contributed to regional planning initiatives. His work has spanned both rural and urban settings.
Former Deputy CAO Randy Scherzer is the new CAO.
Retiring CAO Kim Wingrove says in a statement, “His collaborative approach and proven leadership will be invaluable as we continue to advance Council’s priorities and deliver responsive, effective services to our residents.”
Meanwhile, Georgian Bluffs says in a statement of its outgoing CAO, he has, “Played a pivotal role in guiding the organization through a period of transformation and growth.”
They say he strengthened the Township’s focus on strategic planning, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.”
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Sue Carleton says in a statement, “While we are sad to see Niall go, we are incredibly proud of all that has been accomplished under his leadership,” adding, “Niall has helped to shape a clear direction for Georgian Bluffs’ future that’s rooted in our community and heritage, and we know he will bring that same collaborative energy and commitment to his new role at Grey County.”
Georgian Bluffs says more information on the process and timeline for filling their CAO position will become available in the coming weeks.
