A Saugeen Shores citizen wants to see enhanced stop signs in the community for safety purposes.
Jim Kline made a presentation to councillors in the Open Forum section of the meeting March 8th.
Kline says the idea to improve stop signs came to him in 2017 when he witnessed the aftermath of a crash at an intersection where a vehicle t-boned another after failing to stop.
Kline says his idea is to have the signs more visible in the daytime and that would glow at night when lights hit it.
He says, “Picture the back of the opposing sign and both sign legs as flourescent yellow/green in daytime and strips of conspicuity tape, the same colour in darkness.”
Council has agreed to send the suggestion back to staff for a report on the costs and legalities of the concept.
