Two new exhibitions are opening this season at Tom Thomson Art Gallery, celebrating both the natural world and the creativity of young local artists.
Opening Saturday, April 25, is Liz Zetlin: More Than Human – a year in my garden, an immersive four-channel video installation inspired by the seasonal rhythms of the artist’s garden in Owen Sound.
Through video, sound, and shifting perspectives, the exhibition explores the interconnected relationships between plants, pollinators, and the environment.
Also featured is Emergence 2026, a biennial exhibition showcasing artwork by high school students from across the region. The show highlights a wide range of ideas, materials, and artistic approaches from the next generation of creators.
Gallery officials say the two exhibitions together create a dialogue between ecological awareness and creative growth.
A free public opening reception will be held Saturday, April 25, from 1 to 3 p.m.
More Than Human – a year in my garden runs until June 27, while Emergence 2026 continues until June 20.
Admission to the gallery is by donation, and the building is fully accessible.
