Huron Shores Hospice has received a cheque of nearly $3,000 from the Port Elgin Rotary Club in support of a new suite.
As part of the Rotary Club’s $10,000 annual commitment over five years, the $2,912 donation was raised from pumpkin pie sales during the 2020 Pumpkinfest.
During the event, a large order of 150 pies were distributed to frontline workers in Grey and Bruce counties.
Cheryl Cottrill, Co-Chair of Huron Shores Hospice says the donation will go towards the operating costs of a second suite at the facility that is set to open on April 13th, noting, “This is a very special donation, we couldn’t have moved forward without the support of both the rotary club and and community, we really appreciate the support.”
