The Bluewater District School Board has closed its annual budget survey for this yiear.
Participation was down.
At the April 6th Business Committee meeting, treasurer Rob Cummings tells trustees, 206 people took part in the online survey from February 3rd to March 3rd.
The year before 856 people expressed their opinions.
However Cummings says the concerns are all valid and about the same each year.
He points out the issues centre around reading and writing skills; math learning; mental health and well being; technological and special education.
Cummings says they’re working on next year’s budget now, taking into account the items mentioned in the budget survey, along with provincial funding per student.
A draft budget should be ready by May with a final document passed this June.
