It appears there is no need for a Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority executive committee meeting today, looking into the proposed Cedar Crescent Village application.
According to the General Manager/Secretary Treasurer of SVCA Jennifer Stephens, the staff completed its review of information, submitted by Saugeen Shores last week.
Technical material has been identified that is needed for a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the development at Port Elgin’s main beach.
Saugeen Shores will supplement its existing application with the material requested, and re-submit.
It’s not known what material exactly, the SVCA is after.
Meanwhile, Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau was speaking at his annual breakfast with the mayor, put on virtually by the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce. (WED)
He says the public has been looking for redevelopment on the main beach and “we’re very close to achieving that.”
Charbonneau says the proposed multi-million-dollar private investment is an example of the growth that is taking place in the municipality.
He says the demand is there and it’s where people want to be, however the project must go through the necessary processses to get permission to build.
The Cedar Crescent Village development includes a restaurant, special events hall, retail and recreation space to be located at the harbour of the Port Elgin Main Beach.
