Owen Sound Police say a 49-year-old male resident has been pulled from Sydenham River Friday night by a young samaritan.
Upon receiving a call near 7th Street East, Owen Sound Police, Grey County EMS and Owen Sound Fire Services responded and were told by a 24-year-old male resident, during a walk along the river bank, he noticed a man face down in the water.
The man was unresponsive to the young man’s calls, prompting him to enter the water and drag the victim out.
Police say the victim did not need resuscitation but was brought to hospital for medical treatment.
It is believed the rescued man will make a full recovery.
