A 27-year-old male resident is facing several charges from Owen Sound Police after being apprehended following a break and enter.
Police say on June 11, around 7 p.m., westside homeowners returned to their residence to find it had been forcibly entered and the person responsible was still in the basement.
When the homeowner contacted the police, the suspect fled the home.
Police were able to locate the man a short time later and after a brief scuffle, the suspect was taken into custody, but not before spitting blood in the officer’s face.
The accused is facing charges of break and enter, mischief, assaulting an officer, and assault with intent to resist arrest.
He is set to appear in court next month.
