A drug bust of over 50 grams of suspected fentanyl has been made in Port Elgin by Saugeen Shores Police.
Police say on June 11 around 8:40 p.m. at an address in Port Elgin, an off-duty officer saw a man known to be wanted by another police service.
On duty officers attended and found the man in the passenger seat of a vehicle with a female driver.
The man was immediately placed under arrest and a search resulted in the discovery of the drugs, leading officers to place the female under arrest as well.
The 34-year-old Walkerton man and 35-year-old Walkerton woman are both charged with possession with the purpose of trafficking, and possession. The man was additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Both were held for a bail hearing and the man was remanded into custody while the woman was released on her own recognizance of a court date.
