An eight-unit townhouse development is coming to Hepworth, along Queen Street West.
The Bruce County Planning and Development Committee has approved a change to the county official plan to allow the project to proceed.
County Warden and South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Janice Jackson says the one-storey building will house units that will all be one-bedroom with a den.
Jackson says she understands a lot of seniors have already put their name in, in hopes of securing one of the units.
The mayor says developer David Ioannidis has plans to landscape the area to make the development “very attractive and it’s not going to stand out like a sore thumb.”
Jackson says they need rental housing in South Bruce Peninsula and this fits the bill.
The townhouses will be serviced by two onsite wells and an onsite sewage disposal system.
The developer hopes to start construction this fall.
