A serious collision in Carrick Township has resulted in South Bruce OPP charging an Alberta resident with dangerous driving.
Police say on June 25 around 10:30 p.m., OPP received a report of a two vehicle head-on collision on Bruce Country Road 3, where one of the vehicles had caught fire.
Bruce County Paramedics, Grey County Paramedics and members of the Mildmay-Carrick Fire Department attended the scene.
The driver of the northbound vehicle had to be air lifted to a London hospital for serious, life-threatening injuries.
OPP say attending officers noticed the driver of the southbound vehicle had been consuming alcohol and was showing signs of impairment.
The 19-year-old Alberta resident was charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and operation causing bodily harm.
The accused was remanded into custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement unit is assisting with the investigation as Bruce Country Road 3 was closed off, but has since reopened.
