The Grey Bruce Health Unit reports 16 new Covid cases in the region on Saturday.
According to Public Health, seven residents from Owen Sound, three from Saugeen First Nation, two from Saugeen Shores, two from South Bruce, one from Brockton, and one from Huron-Kinloss tested positive.
With 23 previous cases now resolved, the region’s active known case load goes down to 196.
Nine Grey Bruce residents are hospitalized locally and five are receiving care outside the region.
Nine Grey Bruce residents have died from the virus over the course of the pandemic.
More than 185,000 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the region to date.
The testing and case counts data released by the health unit on Friday is reflective of a 24-hour period prior to 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
