The Grey Bruce Health Unit is partnering up with Bruce Power to encourage residents to get their vaccines by offering a chance of golf with NHL hall of famer Toronto Maple Leaf Doug Gilmour at the Cobble Beach Golf Resort.
In a release, the health unit says all it takes to enter the draw to be one of three who gets to go on the golfing trip is to either volunteer or receive your first of second dose at the vaccination centre at the Kincardine Davidson Centre, Owen Sound District Secondary School and Hanover P&H Centre, or any of the other pop-up clinics.
You must have received your shot between July 12 and the 31, entry details will be provided when you sign-in at the vaccination centre.
Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says the response of residents in Grey and Bruce to both getting vaccinated and volunteering at the hockey hubs has so far been excellent, but residents can not let up yet.
“Case numbers continue to be concerning due to the Delta variant. We need more people getting their first and second doses as soon as possible. Vaccination is the key to defeating this pandemic,” says Dr. Arra.
Head of Bruce Power’s Corporate Affairs Pat Dalzell adds he hopes the chance to play gold with an NHL legend will keep vaccine centre busy this month.
“We hope residents continue to volunteer in high numbers at local vaccination centres and pop-up clinics, and we urge everyone who is eligible for a vaccine to take these opportunities as soon as possible,” says Dalzell.
