The next classic car cruise is coming to Bruce Peninsula for the civic holiday, with the help from Grey Bruce Crime Stoppers.
A release notes the next car cruise is set to run on Aug. 1 as residents and vacationers in the Saugeen Shores, Sauble Beach, Wiarton, Owen Sound and Lion’s Head will be able to catch the cars pass through on the roads of the Bruce Peninsula.
Upon gathering at 1 p.m. from one of five gathering spots and traveling north on the east and west side of the peninsula, a brief gathering point at Lion’s head will be set up. The cars will then turn around on the opposite roads, heading towards the Wiarton Keppel International Airport.
The event is supported by crime stoppers as a way to raise money for the program as they experienced funding shortages due to the Covid pandemic.
The communities the cars will pass through include, Colpoys Bay, Ferndale, Hepworth, Howdenvale, Lion’s Head, Oliphant, Pike Bay, Red Bay, Sauble Beach, Shallow Lake, Southampton, Springmount, and Wiarton.
To catch the cars passing through, they will be traveling along Wiarton Keppel International Airport, Frank Street North on Berford Street, detouring to Gould Street, County Road 9, Highway 6 in Ferndale, Pike Bay Road, Sunset Drive, Howdenvale Road, Bryant Street and County Road 13, and Sauble Falls Parkway.
