Georgian College is announcing its anticipation to return to in-person learning and on-campus activities this coming fall.
In a release, the college says on Friday they received word from the Ministry of Colleges and Universities about the plans for Fall of 2021.
Deputy Minister Shelly Tapp notes assuming the continued progress of the provincewide vaccination progress and continued improvements may to key public health and health care indicators, they anticipate all in-person instruction and on-campus activities at post secondary education institutions would be permitted to start up again without the capacity limits of physical distancing.
“I want to emphasize that PSE institutions continue to have the flexibility to deliver academic instruction in the mode that best suits the needs of students and institutions including virtual and hybrid delivery models,” says Tapp.
Georgian College operates eight campus locations, including in Owen Sound.
More details on an updated framework will be made available early August to make sure they align with the most current public health and safety guidelines for September.
With the students aiming to return in the fall, the college is keeping to their academic delivery schedule and include a combination of remote and in-person learning, with an gradual increase in on-campus activity as the semester progresses.
The college will post the services which will be made available for either in-person, online and both as well as what to expect when they return to campus.
