Congratulations to Matt & Mel, who won our Love Story Engagement Contest.
The couple were nominated by Linda Brown, the Bride’s Mother:
“My daughter Mel and Matt were engaged Nov 17 2023. They had known each other previously as people just passing by at work for many years. Then recently about 2021, after both of them found that they had similar stories, and both went through separations, they came to realize they had a lot of the same common interests. They started talking more, and before long couldn’t go a day without talking to each other. It was like an instant match of the heavens. They found each other 3 years ago and for them the honeymoon phase will never end, they are so very cute together always. Matt came to me and asked if he could marry my daughter, I agreed. She had no clue, he bought 12 roses. He had 12 clues he had hand written and put them at the places that are meaningful to them both, and have been a part of their journey. First clue and rose was given to her at home and said “Go to the place that has a fish in the name where our vacations come to mind. She thought about it oh yes! Marlin travel! Headed on her way, they were expecting her with a rose and gave her the next clue. “Go to the lady who has been with us for over a year, showing us many, many places to call our own”. “She thought about it…oh yes Nicole Schnurr our real estate agent, she went across the road and they were expecting her with the next rose and a clue. Go to the place where are friend always makes your hair look so beautiful, oh yes! Studio 226! Jenn! She was there waiting with a rose and a clue.” “Go to the place where I made dinner for you for the first time. “Your apartment above the radio station!” He left the rose with the landlord at the radio station and of course another clue. The scavenger hunt went on for 12 roses he was the last rose at the Hanover trail where they had their first walk and was waiting for her to walk down the trail and pop the question. He asked her to marry him and she said yes!!”
